I bought this product alongwith Gem Blue De-tan scrub. I wanted to try an aloe vera gel and find out what the fuss was all about. This gel is suitable for hydrating the body in dry summers. Since it is a gel, it is not greasy, though if you use too much then you might find it slightly sticky. The product does not contain any parabens. Instead it has sodium benzoate. And I was pleasantly surprised to find that it also contains Vitamin E(Tocopheryl Acetate) and Vitamin C(Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate) which helps to reduce pigmentation and brighten your skin. Very little of the product is required, so it’s quite economical. This gel works well as an after-bath, skin-locking moisturiser. My only grumble is that Nykaa delivered me a leaked bottle. When I opened the bottle from its plastic wrapping, I noticed a tiny smear outside and didn’t think much about it. Somebody had cleaned the bottle well before packing. But when I opened the bottle, it was obvious that the aluminium foil was ripped apart due to pressure and there was huge glob of the gel on the lid. When I compared the gel bottle with the de-tan scrub bottle, I realised that at least 30 to 50 grams of gel was lost. Since this is the first time, this has happened, so I am letting it slide. But I request Nykaa to tell the Gem Blue company to plastic-seal their bottles completely from the outside, because that aluminium foil cannot withstand pressure.
